Some pretty amazing things have happened

This time lets start with the sightseeing photos. I took most of these photos today and because today is a big Italian holiday i couldn't go into the churches and some other places.

I have met here many different and nice people and mostly had fun.
And with some of them i have photos so its easier to tell stories.

There were these guys. They invited me for a beer we did had many of these.

While we drank and had fun my shirt broke down the most unexpected way (Most of my clothes are pretty weared out so very fragile).
And then i remembered that i have a marker in my bag.

One day i heard something very familiar. And then i realised this is my native language. So i went to speak with them and they are the first Estonians who i have seen in Italy (except for few friends).

We talked a little bit and on the next day we met again. Then they invited me to have a pizza, to a small concert and to drink wine. It was a very nice evening.

On the next day i met another Estonian.
But this is very rare occasion when you meet an Estonian who studied in Indian monastery for many years to be monk and then moved to Italy to develop this here.

In the same evening i met another very cool Spanish guy.
He invited me for a beer and again one beer got to a second one and so on.

And at one moment he said that he also wants to pay for my bed in a hostel.
At first i declined but then he said that its right around the corner and i agreed.

But it wasn't!
We ended up walking there for an hour and in the morning i realised we have walked quite far. We were near the port in the begginning.

Sunday also something happened.
I was sleeping on the streets as usually and somebody had called an ambulance.

After little bit talking they offered that they take me to the hospital and give me some free medicines and a bed there.

But i don't like to sleep in the hospitals so i just took the vitamins and said goodbye to them.

On Monday i also met a guy from Columbia with who we also talked many hours. And also decided that we should take pizzas and beers.

Few days ago i met a Swedish man with Estonian roots and his family and friend. Like many Estonians in the soviet union occupation time else his father fled to Sweden.

And after little bit talking they offered me room in their apartment.

They also gave me bag full of food and a very good sleeping mat.

Also Geneva's local news wrote a short article about me. I think this should be the fifth article about my trip.

Now some of the places i most commonly have slept.

Now I'm ready to leave tomorrow morning.

So far 1584 km.

To the sky

So thursday evening i started heading to the mountains from La Spezia because there was no road next to the sea.

La Spezia

Last views to La Spezia

And then i headed to a long tunnel which was the only one in my trip over the mountains.

In the mountains its not very easy to find a solid ground where to sleep in the night. But when i finally did spot one i took it. Even if it was way too close to the road.

In the morning i saw one interesting solution how to use old bicycles.

Friday the real climb over the mountains started. And with a clear sky and daylight it was all so beautiful. All the wilderness and then the small villages on the road. Some of them even half abandoned.

And then i reached to the same height with the clouds.

But i sure wasn't easy to get up there.

In the evening when i started to walk down from the mountains it got really cloudy.

At midnight i got down from the mountains and found a sleeping place in a city, in front of an abandoned house.

Saturday wasn't much easier for me. The whole day was walking from a port town up to the mountains to some small village or town and then back down to some port town and so on. But luckily for me i didn't got that high this time. But the views were amazing again.

In the evening i saw lightening 20 km away above Genova and i was pretty sure that it will come to me as well. So later when i spotted this abandoned road workers building i decided that its going to be my sleeping place for the night.

And i wasn't wrong. Since 6am until 11am it was thunderstorm again. But i stayed completely dry.

Yesterdays final walk to Genova went very slowly because the mountains had finally killed my legs. But i still made it.

And when i made it i just sat in one square for hours and did absolutely nothing.

Thats how my feet veins look like after 2/3 of a daily walk.

But then these two polish girls came to me and we started chatting. They also got me a nice bed at their host place where we also had some wine.

I will stay in Genova at least one day more and rest my feet and also go through all the sightseeing places.

So far 1584 km.
