When i first came to Spain and saw people party. I told to myself. What the fuck!?

Yesterday after the blog post i went to discover this beautiful city which is full of life.

And in every 200 meters there is a tent where there is party going on. Even though i love to party i was too tired by midnight from all the discovering.
So it was time to go to sleep. Since the city was full of party i thought to myself, always there is a possibility to sleep on the beach.

But what do you know? More party!

So i walked to the far end of the beach were it was a bit more quiet and went to sleep.
One moment heard a group of girls next to me and saying hello. So i said hello also and in response i got a shy smile and they left.
About 4 am the same group of girls said hello again but this time i preferred to sleep.
But in the morning when the police woke me up i realized that the group of girls had put up a tent next to me. Should have said hello.

Now the police woke me up 6 am since they needed to clean the beach. Normally they do it in the night but you know, there was a party.

But because of that i got a good photo from the sunrise.

At first i toughed that i got the sunrise with a moon on it. But then i realized that its not the full moon right now. So i did some googeling and realized that i captured a sunrise with planet Mercury on it!

After that i went to the promenade and laid down on a bench where i slept another 3 hours.

Then i went to McDonalds to take a breakfast and i got a very happy surprise.

Travelers who need to charge a battery know how rare it is to find an electricity socket in McDonalds!
So i stayed quite a while there until it was time to go to see the Mascleta.
I got there half an hour earlier and already i had to stay far away.

The final minute of the Mascleta!

After that i looked around the city a bit more.

And you haven't really been in Spain until you have seen something like this. During my stay in Gandia i witnessed that a lot.
You know they even hold bachelors and pride maids partys with small orchestras like that on the streets!

From now on i will try to upload more videos to the blog since they can give you a better look into things. So far i didn't do that because its close to impossible to upload a video in Blogger.

I don't know yet what I'm going to do today. If i can get in with my bag i will probably go to see a bullfight. Also i think i should hunt some money today.

Ps. The blog will be renamed to www.roadtomyfreedom.blogspot.com probably in 15 july (enough time to inform everybody).

So far 3118 km.

Festival time

After the last blog post on Wednesday morning i went to the promenade to hunt some money. Little do my friends from Gandia know that i actually left with 20 euros in my pocket.

In Benidorm its illegal to earn money on the streets and you can get a healthy fine for that. But i found a way out. I wrote my sign on my bags rain cover so it is intact with the bag and its not a carp board sign.
I put my bag to lean towards the bench and stand up (to see when the police is coming) with the hat. And when i see police just sit town like a normal person.

I did that pretty much the whole day, exempt during the siesta time.

This is Benidorm in the night.

The next day i went back to the promenade to hunt some money. After that i went to my home bar and googled Alicante since that was my next stop. And when i red that the biggest festival of the year starts tomorrow. There was no thinking, picked up my bag, bought elastic bandages (since my knees are not as good anymore as they were 3000 km ago). And it was time to hit the road.

On my way out i took the last photos of Benidorm.
Old town is very small but it sure is a maze.

The last look to Benidorm as i was leaving.

In the first night i took it easy since its been a while. Some photos from the first night.

On the road i went to one bar to take a coffee but the workers were so nice that they gave me a dinner as well. Unfortunately they were too busy to take a photo.

Went to sleep somewhere next to the road like usually.

Friday was a very hot day and the road was in the mountains and always going up and down. And for the whole day it was sunny and no wind. So it was really exhausting to walk.

Noticed that the landscape isn't very green anymore?
This is me at 11 am, a bit sunburned and sweating like hell but still happy.

And this is me at 6 pm, exhausted from the heat, from the road and sunburned.

I pushed out some more km until 7 km before Alicante when i found a nice sleeping place. Empty spot in one town.

Today i took the walk very slowly because no matter what, you can still do 7 km in one day.

And the further south i go the nicer the people seem to be. There were more people on the road who gave me a coffee. Or even multiple cars who stopped and asked if i want a ride, even though i walk on the opposite side of the road.

At noon i arrived in Alicante and started looking for a place where i could charge my battery and write a blog at the same time while only ordering a coffee. It aint easy when its the biggest festival of the year.

About the festival. Its the bonfires of saint John. In this region of spain they celebrate it with orchestras and bands playing everywhere in the streets, parades, carnivals, bullfights mascletas (show which mission is to produce loudest noise possible by using explosions), wooden statues which are peaces of art all over the squares and streets (which they put on fire Wednesday night) and fireworks. All this EVERY DAY for one week!

The first photos from Alicante.

And by now the streets are full with people.
