Scary animals and rain

Surprisingly i did left from Grosseto in friday morning even though the fever was back.
So the first 5 km was very dizzy for me and  i couldn't understand a lot about what was going on. But with the heat and pressure i sweated all the poisons out and after that it was okey.

And for the first time the roads had smaller paraler pedestrian paths.

And i really liked it because for the first time i could listen music while i was walking and the km started to come a lot faster.

Also they had nice stop points.

And in the evening i finally made it to a point where i saw the end of the endless wheat fields.

There in the mountains it was beautiful but because it was night time i don't have any photos.
But at the same time it was quite scary because on the both sides of the road there was a forest. And i could hear a lot of big animals right next to me but i couldn't see them and know if they are dangerous or not.
But that put the adrenaline flowing which is pretty useful when you are tired and the legs don't want to move anymore.

I guess i should get myself some epinephrine (those who have seen the movie Crank will understand).

And when i got out from the forest, then for the first time i was happy to see a wheat field because i felt safe to fell a sleep.

The last view from the mountains in the morning.

Around two a clock i had a nice lunch and chat with this couple.

They had seen me before on the road and when they saw me passing the restaurant they invited me to join with them.

After that i was walking on the edge of a thunderstorm all day long.

But in the evening it finally caught up with me.
And it was one of the biggest thunder storms I've seen here in Italy. I tough that its not probably a good idea to walk with that on the open fields so i cuted my planned walk a lot shorter and instead of the planned 3 days it took me 4 days to get to Livorno.

I slept in a bus station but it was pretty much like sleeping under an open sky because the roof let all the water through and i still woke up soaking wet.

The next day i had heavy winds and a little bit of rain again but this time i found myself a good place to sleep.

I actually don't watch football but here in Italy its almost impossible to not know that the world cup is on. You can see all the time somewhere an italian flag.

And today the last 10 km to Livorno was amazing.

Here in Livorno i have been just walking around and haven't done not much else.
Also found a place to sleep where is wifi.

So far 1369 km.

Everything

Saturday morning ( after the last post) when i woke up i still didn't have any water or food and after 5 km of walking i found a city (by that time it was already 20 km with out water or food).  And it felt like a paradise! I got food and water and had a chance to buy the supply as well.

And on the road there wasn't nothing interesting again and at the evening i arrived in grosseto.

I have to say that facebook gives some fame. Many people recognized me because when i was in Rome i met a girl from Grosseto and that photo went to facebook.

In Grosseto i met a lot of cool persons and had a good night.

These to guys even offered me place to sleep, but because it was in the outskirts of grosseto i preferred to sleep on the streets (i think I'm getting to cosy on the streets

So i slept in the center of grosseto.

In the next day i went to discover the old town of Grosseto.

In the evening i met with these guys who were really awesome. The one on the right is 21 and already owns 3 restaurants.

They suggested that we could go to the beach on the next day and so we did.

In the evening we went to the bar where we met.

And there is also a really cool bartender.

I also met a very nice women over there who bought me many beers.

In the next morning i had some usual problems with the police.
They checked my documents and said that its not good to sleep in the center of Grosseto.

After that i had a plan to go to Rocchette.
I heard about that place in the beach and when they said that you can do cliff diving over there it was decided.

I only knew a name of the place and i didn't had any idea where it was.
So in that day there was a lot of asking from the people where do i have to go( half of them didn't knew the place and nobody knew the place where you can cliff dive).

So on that day i took 2 buses and even got off from the wrong stops, walked and even hitchhiked myself to the back of a truck.

And after 6 hours even though it was only 30 km away i finally made it.

Behind the castle is the spot, but on that day i didn't went to there because it was already late and the sun wasn't that hot any more.

So i went to the beach bar in the huge camping facility to sit down. There i got wifi passwords, showers and everything.

And reason all that was possible was that it was just so big that nobody knew that i wasn't a client and the ones who did know didn't care.

In that night i slept in the shower room (there where a lot of these and you could lock the door).

But in the next morning i had a fever, cough and everything else.

I was so ill that i was even ready to pay 8 euros for a shitty tent spot so i could just sleep.

So on that day i mostly slept and when i wasn't sleeping i was eating healthy things and curing myself.

In the next morning i got a big surprise because it turned out that we had some misunderstanding when talking about the price.
They said that one person in a place with no electricity is 8 euros but they forgot to mention that a tent spot is also 15 euros.
So i ended up paying 23 euros for that.
I guess that's why they only accept payments in the morning.

But in the next morning i felt a lot better and only had a sore throat.
And that i cured the estonian way.
A class of vodka.

Few hours after that i felt good enough to go to the place where you could do cliff diving.

And it was just epic.

The only problem was that  the water was only 2,5 meters deep and after that started the rock bottom.
That means when you jump, you have to land with a splash to not go in to deep. And from 12 meters to land with a splash can be a bit painful.

But other than that it was good.

Now I'm back in Grosseto and it only took 1 and a half hours to get here.

I plan to leave friday morning but i already know that the plans doesn't want to work out for

So far 1233 km.

Back on the road

So monday i left from Rome and started walking again. In the first day after month of resting i took it easy and only walked 21 km but after that started to do some progress.

In the border of Rome i found a big supermarket and bought some more necessary things like : reflecting vest, flashlight, socks and earphones.

Probably the most important things are the flashlight and reflecting vest because now after 1000 km i finally feel safe when walking in the night.
But i still like the earphones more because they make the little cigarette breaks a lot more fun.

The road most of the time is nothing but wheat fields.

I slept in this road triangle that is on the side of bigger roads.

Tuesday the only thing happened that in the night i arrived near the see again and it was so good to sleep there.

Wednesday morning i visited Santa Marinella beach which is on of the most popular beaches near Rome.

In the day time i arrived in the city of civitavecchia where i was few hours and even for a moment i toughed that i will spend the night there but i decided to move on.
But still it was beautiful.

In the evening google maps made me a little prank.

It suggested me to walk on this road.

I don't have nothing against 4 row highways but what google maps didn't know was that this road has been renamed to A12 highway where it is illegal to walk.

That prank costed me 8 km of extra walking and lots of frustration at that time because when i checked the map for alternative road i soon realised that there isn't one.

Like i said in the beginning that the road is mostly just wheat fields so you can guess where i was sleeping that night.

Thursday was really different day from my normal walking days because i haven't walked on so many different roads in one day before.

I walked on normal country side roads.

Then on a bit smaller road.

Even smaller road.

And for 5 km i didn't had any road at all to walk on so i walked on the beach.

I didn't like that in the beginning at all because it was a lot harder to walk on sand and the sand also got into my shoes so it was really uncomfortable.

And then came the river.

So i took my shoes off and passed the river and after that everything got fun for me.
Walking with barefoot in the waves with a big backbag and with walking sticks and all those looks i got from other people.

I also got a nice cool bath in the midday heat which felt so good, plus i got to wash myself.

And it was a little bit windy on that day so i got a really funny look.

After the beach i got back on those small roads and went to small city Montalto di Castro. Because i asked from the locals from what part of the road i can walk again there (the road that google had suggested me) and they said that i can go on this road right after this city.

From there i went back to this big road and walked until i arrived at the border of Toscany.

So i slept near the highway.

And today just few hours ago i was thinking that how badly i want to lay down on a couch for half a hour. And just 100 meters later i found a couch.

So this is the story of my past five days.
Hope you like it!

So far 1197 km.
